Active input of data

There are places on our website where you can voluntarily enter or upload data:

  1. Registration
  2. comment function
  3. Upload photos

Personal data is also collected here. In the following, we explain which data are collected why for these three cases:

Registration

There is the possibility to register on our website. Registration requires the following information:

  • Name
  • username
  • password
  • E-mail address

This data is stored on our server. The storage of the password is simplified as a so-called hash, so that this cannot be restored in principle. Registered users can rate comments from other users on our website, create comments without re-entering their user name and upload photos immediately. We use the data collected during registration only for the purpose of simplifying the use of our website and preventing misuse. We will not pass this data on to third parties without your express consent. The data entered during registration will be processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You may revoke your consent at any time and ask us to delete your user profile. All you need to do is send an informal message by e-mail. If we store your user profile with us, your posts written up to that point will remain accessible, but will be made anonymous. An exception is when your contributions are quoted in discussions. Such quotations remain unchanged for technical reasons. Against this background, too, we reserve the right not to choose your business name as your user name.

comment function

If you leave a post or comment on our website, you will be asked to enter a user name next to the comment itself if you are not registered and logged in as a user. We do not require you to enter your name or e-mail address to make a comment. However, we do store your IP address. This is done on the basis of our legitimate interests within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO and serves the security of us as website operator: Because if your comment should offend against valid right, we can be sued for it, why we have an interest in the identity of the comment and/or contribution author. The comments and the associated data are stored and remain on our server. If you would like to have your comment's personal data deleted, an informal e-mail message is sufficient. In this case, after checking the comment for legality, we will delete the stored IP address and make the user name anonymous. An exception is when your contributions are quoted in discussions. Such quotations remain unchanged for technical reasons. Against this background, too, we reserve the right not to choose your business name as your user name.

Upload photos

If you upload a photo of a bathroom to our website, you will be asked to enter the data required for registration if you are not registered as a user and logged in. This is done on the basis of our legitimate interests within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO and serves the security of us as website operators: If your photo violates applicable law, we may be prosecuted, which is why we have an interest in the identity of the person who uploads the photo. The data entered in this process will be processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You may revoke your consent at any time and request that we delete the user profile automatically created during the process of validating your e-mail address. All you need to do is send an informal message by e-mail. When we store your user profile with us, photos uploaded by you will also be stored on our website.

Use your location for perimeter search

Optionally, you can use your location for the perimeter search. This is done via a function of your browser, which transfers your location to our server. Your location will only be used for perimeter search and will not be stored on our server.

Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API to display geographic information visually. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about the use of map functions by visitors. Further information about data processing by Google can be found at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. There you can also change your personal data protection settings in the Data Protection Center.

Your rights

You have the right at any time and free of charge to receive information about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the correction, blocking or deletion of this data. You have the right to revoke your consent to the use of your personal data at any time. For this an informal e-mail is sufficient. The legality of data processing until revocation remains unaffected by the revocation. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint if you have any further questions on the subject of data protection.
